About this position
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of IT Operations to lead and optimize our IT infrastructure, service management, and technology operations. Based in Middleboro, MA, this individual will play a key leadership role in ensuring the performance, reliability, scalability, and security of our IT systems while aligning technology with business objectives. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with deep technical knowledge, strong operational insight, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and oversight of day-to-day IT operations, including data centers, networks, cloud services, service desk, and enterprise systems.
- Lead and develop high-performing teams responsible for IT infrastructure, service delivery, systems administration, and incident management.
- Ensure optimal performance of IT systems through proactive monitoring, automation, and capacity planning.
- Establish and enforce IT operational policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, CMMC).
- Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and service-level agreements (SLAs) to maximize value and ensure consistent service delivery.
- Partner with business units and leadership to align IT services and capabilities with organizational needs and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and manage the IT operations budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and efficient resource allocation.
- Oversee disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and incident response efforts.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks while driving continuous improvement across IT services and support processes.

- Develop and manage the IT operating budget.
- Support team development through mentoring and training opportunities.
- Resolve personnel issues and conduct performance reviews.
- Prepare feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.
- Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards.
- Represent the company in professional associations and industry events.
- Lead planning studies and implement recommendations.
- Advise on hardware and software acquisitions.
- Recruit, hire, and manage IT staff performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT operations or infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale enterprise IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL), infrastructure technologies (e.g., cloud computing, networking, storage), and cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, and driving operational excellence.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
